environment friendly business

In the industrial premises in Dirksland (NL) we have a policy of environ-ment friendly entrepreneurship.
The industrial premises in Dirksland are certified according to ISO 9001:2008 and AQAP 2120:2009.
This means in short that extra attention is paid to:

energy consumption

It goes almost without saying that reduction of energy consumption is an objective. Frequently the efficiency of capital equipment is being judged that is replaced or is disposed of as the occasion arises. This is also the case for heating and cooling of the company (by gas). The hot air released at the reflow soldering process is caught and reused.

waste flows

There is a separation of waste products into type of waste: various metals, plastics, paper, wood, (biodegradable) kitchen waste and what remains. Frequently we look whether new sorting possibilities can be introduced.

purchase aspects

In it, matters such as socially safe entrepreneurship of our suppliers is taken into account. In the purchase of for instance industrial clothing it is verified whether they are child labour free (you can find our business code of behaviour under the button facts & figures). Reusable materials are preferable. In the purchase of new means of production the environmental aspects are taken into account in the evaluation.

waste water

A monitoring system is permanently checking the quality of the waste water. If the standards are exceeded the discharge is stopped and the cause is investigated. Monitoring includes heavy metals. Rainwater discharge and sewage water are separated.

transport management

Not only from cost considerations, but mainly to reduce CO2-emissions, all movements of goods and people are mapped and they are being clustered as much as possible. Employees are stimulated to leave their cars at home and to commute by public transport or by bicycle. The staff magazine plays a role in it.

discussion of progress

An environment study group gathers every two months and is working on an annual action plan on all matters that have something to do with the environment. During the meeting new plans are discussed and the results of measures taken earlier are checked. Annually, the results are discussed on the highest management level. A five-year plan has been set up as well.

the production process

Entirely according to the directive the soldering process is 100% lead free, apart from exceptions (according to the dispensation regulations). Environment-friendly fluxes are used that are soluble among other things in water.
