test engineering improves the quality of electronics
Dirksland, 4 February 2012 - As of 1 February, tbp electronics, producer of professional electronics, has expanded its services to include test engineering.
A team of eight specialists will focus in particular on Design for Test (DfT) to provide support to developers of electronics. The company took this step in the light of the increasing demand for better collaboration between designers and producers.
Test engineering knowledge is needed to have the best possible test coverage for the practical implementation of electronics. tbp test engineering specialists will collaborate with the developers on a design that will primarily optimise the functional end test. They will also ensure that sufficient tests can be run during production.
The team of specialists all come from the telecom company Alcatel-Lucent and the company that later became tbp electronics Belgium. The team developed a special tool for implementing a functional end test for printed circuit boards. This tool consists of a Generic Test Platform which requires only the building of an interface that includes the necessary software per product. This will reduce costs drastically.
Given that the tbp test engineering specialists want to be as close to the clients as possible, a suitable location had to be found. The choice fell on Eersel, near Eindhoven, home to countless electronics companies. The tbp test engineering team is located in the De Haagdoorn industrial estate in Eersel, on the A67.
