The test engineers of tbp electronics will be relocating to the Brainport Industries Campus in Eindhoven. Mid April, the team will be moving into modern premises at this leading location within the high-tech manufacturing industry. If innovative suppliers, specialised companies and institutions that specialise in technical knowledge and learning are united at a single site, they can improve their individual competitiveness by promoting innovation and knowledge sharing.
The test engineering department at tbp is still located in Eersel at the moment. The ten permanent employees will be moving to premises measuring 400 m2, which are located next to the atrium, on the second floor of the first commercial building. They will have access to a spacious development area, a meeting room and their own work stations. A cosy hospitality corner will also be set up so clients can be given a warm welcome.
The new address details for this tbp division are:

catalyst for technological development
This plan includes a total of five commercial buildings, with the first now being gradually put into use. The companies and institutions based at the site are able to take advantage of the shared facilities, such as a business centre, flexible production areas, warehouses and central catering. The Brainport Industries Campus (brainportindustriescampus.com) is a partnership between the province of Noord-Brabant, the municipality of Eindhoven, Brabantse Ontwikkelings Maatschappij (BOM), SDK Vastgoed and the Brainport Industries cooperative.
John Blankendaal, managing director of Brainport Industries (brainportindustries.nl), which is a cooperative for high-tech suppliers in the Netherlands:
‘Universities, colleges and secondary schools are located nearby or offer their engineering courses on campus. This helps to create fantastic interaction between learning and practical environments. The site is ideal for our innovation programme and will offer field labs for testing our technological developments in practice.’
Steven Van Hout, team leader test engineering and electronics test development at tbp:
‘We are very interested in the field labs initiated by Brainport Industries, particularly those relating to the production process. Our aim is to make our process even better and faster, while using automation and robotisation to keep human involvement to a minimum. And the innovative surroundings at the Brainport Industries Campus will inspire us when doing so.’
accessible and sustainable
The campus is very easy to access from the A2/N2 and Eindhoven Airport. Navigation address: Rijtakkerweg 15, Eindhoven. In the coming years, the province and municipality will be investing in further improving public transport links as well as the surrounding infrastructure. The site will be given a ‘green’ makeover as part of an urban park initiative called Brainport Park. In addition, the objective is to make the whole campus energy neutral, partly by installing solar panels on the roofs of buildings.
Ton Plooy, CEO of tbp electronics:
‘Standing still is not an option; we must move forwards! We are very pleased that our test engineers are moving into the heart of the high-tech engineering industry. This will allow us to collaborate with others and take important innovative steps for the good of the whole sector.’
DfX in Eindhoven
tbp uses early supplier involvement to help clients perfect the designs of their printed circuit board assemblies (pcba’s) in the earliest phase possible. tbp’s test engineers use Design for Testing (DfT) to optimise test accessibility and test coverage, and use Design for Manufacturing (DfM) to optimise the manufacturability of the design. These steps are an integral part of Design for eXcellence (DfX) and mean clients are assured of the best value of ownership.
After adding a state-of-the-art production line at its main site in Dirksland, tbp is taking another step in optimising its production process by relocating its test engineering department to the Brainport Industries Campus in Eindhoven. These developments have been emphasised by introducing a revamped logo.
